FC Isle of Man host play-off rivals at The Bowl

After a dramatic late win last time out, FC Isle of Man will be hunting success again as they host in-form Irlam in the NWCFL Premier Division tomorrow night (1 February).

The Manx side's stoppage time win against AFC Liverpool six days ago ended a recent barren streak of just one win in their previous seven outings.

Whilst they beat their latest visitors earlier in the season, Irlam head to the Island in red-hot form unbeaten in their last 11 games and winning seven of those.

FC Isle of Man manager Paul Jones thinks last week's result has given the camp a lift, and was asked if this latest test against play-off rivals Irlam is being seen as a proverbial 'six-pointer':

The last encounter of these two teams was in the first week of the season on Tuesday, 30 July where FC Isle of Man emerged 3-1 winners at The RG3 Digital Stadium.

In recent weeks, however and in spite of victory last weekend, FC Isle of Man's stuttering run at the start of 2025 sees them eighth in the table on 52 points, seven points adrift of the promotion play-off places.

Irlam reside seven points and two places further up the standings than their hosts this weekend having played two games more - their current haul of 59 points sees them only outside the play-off positions right now on goal difference.

Whilst Irlam boast the current better league record, head-to-head stats between the sides of have recently been in favour of FC Isle of Man.

'The Ravens' are unbeaten in their last four meetings with the Manchester-based club, winning on three of those occasions.

FC Isle of Man vs Irlam takes place at The Bowl in Douglas this Saturday (1 February) kicking-off at 6pm.

Due to operational reasons, Manx Radio will not be providing live match commentary of this weekend's fixture.

The next scheduled live match coverage on Manx Radio will be FC Isle of Man vs Barnoldswick Town on Saturday, 15 February.
