St George’s’ relentless march towards another Canada Life Premier League title continued in resounding fashion on Saturday.

The reigning champions won 11-1 at lowly Gymns to further extend their lead at the summit to five points with games in hand.

Shaun Nesbitt scored the consolation for the home side who are now in the relegation zone after Ramsey leapfrogged them in the battle of the bottom two sides.

Kris Halsall (two), Martin Torr and Brago Smilyanov scored the goals in a 4-1 success at Marown, who now face an uphill task to beat the drop.

Island international Nigel Shimmin scored their goal.

Laxey moved up to second to move clear in the race for the runners-up spot.

Second half goals from Jackson Brown and Mark Wolfenden fired the Miners to a 2-1 victory at St Mary’s, for whom Steven Priestnal found the net.
