Steve Plater is to be the second solo rider for H.M. Plant Honda at T.T. 2009.
He joins 14-time winner John McGuinness in the official factory effort as the Japanese manufacturer celebrates 50 years in racing.
Honda will also back Nick Crowe and Mark Cox in the saidecars.
Plater has only competed at two T.T. meetings - he is the fastest ever newcommer and then won a race last year.
