Manx Missile has another chance to clinch it on Sunday
It was the first of two chances today for Mark Cavendish to take the overall Stage win record in the Tour de France, but it wasn't to be.
Cav finished amongst a large group after a quiet day well behind the winner Matej Mohoric.
The Manx Missile stays on-par with Eddie Merckx at 34 stage wins.
The Belgian greeted Cavendish at the start line this morning to wish him well, telling him "I hope you break the record today".
Now, the last chance for a record breaking ride for the Manxman will be in Paris on Sunday.
