New Southern 100 fan park coming to Castletown

Four-day experience to run during this year's racing event

A new Southern 100 Road Races fan park will open next week in Castletown.

The new experience put together by ELS Isle of Man and Castletown Town Commissioners will open at 1pm until 11pm on Monday, 8 July in Castletown Square.

After that, it will open at 10am each morning and close at 11pm from 9-11 July.

Rachel Palmer of Southern 100 Racing says: "The Southern 100 are extremely excited to be working alongside Castletown Commissioners & ELS to make the fan park in the square a four-day experience opposed to just the Thursday evening.

"The square in the centre of Castletown will create a unique atmosphere for all race fans and locals throughout the week."

There will be a big screen showing footage from previous Southern 100 races as well as live timing and photographs from this year's meeting.

Rider chat shows will also take place at 1.30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (8,9 & 10 July).

The Southern 100 prize presentation will then be held on Thursday, 11 July following the conclusion of the championship races that day.

A full schedule for the events at the fan park will be announced in due course.
