Crucial goals in dying seconds deny Rams a result
The Manx Rams suffered an agonising late 50-52 defeat to United Arab Emirates in the Europe Netball Open Challenge in Cardiff this afternoon (11 May).
The Manx side took a narrow 14-12 lead after a close-fought first quarter before both teams were locked together at 27-27 come half-time.
Into quarter three and despite a strong start from the Rams, UAE fought back to get 36-39 in front of the Island squad before an intense final quarter saw UAE score two crucial goals in the closing seconds to snatch victory.
Yesterday had seen the Rams kick-off their campaign in the best way possible with a 57-38 victory over Malta, however they weren't able to match that in their Wednesday evening encounter with the Wales Development Squad, losing out 31-92.
Their next match will take place at 11am tomorrow against the Republic of Ireland.
