Go Peel shout introduced in Archery
Tributes to two-time Isle of Man Golf Champion Godfrey Kelly continue to be made.
As well as his involvement with golf and Peel Football Club, he also competed in archery at the 2001 Island Games.
He only took up the sport a year before because a leg injury prevented him from golfing.
Godfrey finished in 10th place in the Gents Recurve competition from a field of 27 archers.
During his involvement in the Games, he introduced the phrase "Go Peel" which he shouted across the field to gee-up the other Manx archers.
The shout-out is still used today by the Isle of Man Archery Club at all off-Island and international competitions.
Sadly Manx sport has lost a real character - our thoughts are with his wife Judy, the family and his many friends.
