Moore the Merrier at Santon

High scores at Meary Veg

John Moore was the winner of the third round of the Colin Bowen Memorial English skeet league at Meary Veg in Santon on Sunday.

It was a competition which began in dull damp conditions and ended in bright sunshine.

Moore took the overall high gun and was first in the A class on 49.

On 48 in equal second place overall were Jeff Corkill, Dave Corlett and James Simpson with Corkill and Corlett equal second in A class and Simpson taking first place in B class.

The class C winner was Richie Radcliffe on 40.

This was also a selection shoot over 100 targets where Corkill was the victor on 96 with Rachael Bowen Matthews, Corlett, Juan Cowley, Moore, and Peter Kelly all ending up on 93 in equal second place.

In equal seventh place on 92 were James Simpson and Stan Cross with Arthur Hayes taking ninth place on 91 and Madeline Simpson rounding of the top ten on 90.

Results (50) Class A: 1, Moore 49/50; equal 2, Corlett, Corkill 48.

Class B: 1, J. Simpson 48, 2, Hayes 47, 3, Kelly, Fabrizio, Simpson 45.

Class C: 1, Radcliffe 40, 2, Kneen 37, 3, J. Kneen snr 36.

Next week is the third round of the Tower Insurance DTL league at 10am and the third rounds of the Sadler Agricultural Supplies ABT and the Manx Petroleum’s Olympic Skeet leagues.

The entry sheet is now up in the club house for the Hospice shoot over the weekend of July 2 and 3.
