Manx team adds to tally on day two in Gibraltar
The Special Olympics Isle of Man squad increased its Gibraltar National Games medal tally during the second day of competition yesterday (21 September).
After the athletics team had been in action on the opening day on Wednesday this week, it was the turn of the football and bocce teams during Thursday.
In a challenging competition on Thursday morning, the Manx football team claimed bronze in their competition despite defeats against the hosts, Gibraltar, and Alcaseriz who both fielded strong sides.
Later in the day was the bocce tournament with Rebecca Maller and Nicola Wooldridge taking the silver medal in the ladies doubles whilst their was a fifth-place finish for Shaun Anderson and Karl Monaghan in the men's doubles.
The final day of events for the annual games are taking place today (22 September).
