Manxman wins 800m title at England Athletics event

Joe Reid takes gold at Manchester championships

Manx athlete Joe Reid won the men's 800m event at the England Athletics Senior Championships this weekend.

Representing Cardiff AAC, the Manxman crossed the line in a time of 1:49.27 in a closely-fought race, with just 0.5s separating the top three in Manchester.

Reacting to the result on Twitter, Reid said it was nice to practice running some rounds, adding that he is loving racing this season and can't wait for more.

It comes after Reid reached the semi-finals of the European Indoor Athletics Championships in May.
