Maiden win for Colley

Steve Colley secured his first ever rally win with co-driver Liz Humphries in Saturday’s Trade Distribution Stages Rally.

In the penultimate round of the Eurocars Motorsport Manx Rally Championship, the trials rider took advantage of the absence of leaders Mark and Eunice Cubbon to record a clear victory.

Nigel Cannell and Nick Kaighin were second until they encountered gear problems with Martin Jones and Maurice Snell impressing to finish as eventual runners-up.

After a close battle with reigning champions Richard Curphey and Andrew Holmes, who spun off late on, Ian and Rivka Corkill took third place.
