There’s been dramatic action at the Southern 100 this morning (Thursday).
Welsh wizard Ian Lougher (pictured) has notched another win on the Billown circuit, taking him to within one victory of Joey Dunlop’s record number of triumphs on the course.
He won this morning’s S&S Motors 600cc race, pipping Ryan Farquhar by just 0.2 of a second after eight laps.
Manxman Connor Cummins was a further three seconds back in third with Michael Dunlop completing the top four.
Maurice Mawdsley described the action before Chris Kinley interviewed the top three (audio file attached):
Earlier, there’d been another thrilling finish in the 600cc B race with Russ Mountford edging out Dennis Booth - again by less than a second – 0.405. Stuart Bainborough was third.
Matt Sayle and Jamie Scarffe took the honours in the sidecar consolation race by three seconds from David Lillie and Lee Watson.
Dean Lindley and Mark Sayers edged out Ruth Laidlow and Dave Mahon for third place.
