
Castletown lost their Lancashire Cup tie by five wickets against a strong Shaw CC XI from Oldham on Sunday.
'Town batted first and against some very tight bowling were dismissed for 99. D Taljard caused most of the problems with 4 wickets for 18 runs and R Harrington returned 2 for 18. Gareth Morris was going well when he was out for 24 and Mark Williams made a solid 19.
Castletown's bowlers quickly hit back and Shaw looked in trouble at 49 for 5. They were rescued again by D Taljard who scored an unbeaten 35. Pick of the southern bowlers were Garreth Roome with 3 for 28 and Andy Sewell who returned 2 for 37.
