There was double success for the Liberal Vannin Party, which trebled its membership in the House of Keys.
As expected, party leader Peter Karran topped the poll in Onchan, with over 2,700 votes, and the LVP won another seat in the constituency, when airline pilot Zac Hall finished second (1,812), securing his place at the expense of Home Affairs Minister Adrian Earnshaw (1,543). The third Onchan seat went to David Quirk (1,594), who was first elected at the 2006 general election.
There was further Lib Van success when Kate Beecroft took the second seat in South Douglas, behind long-serving MHK David Cretney. Mrs Beecroft squeezed out her former LVP colleague Bill Malarkey by a margin of 172 votes.
