Event Manager applications closing tomorrow (9 Oct)
The search is ongoing someone to spearhead the delivery of the 2029 International Island Games on the Isle of Man.
The Department of Education, Sport & Culture is looking to appoint an Event Manager for the games which would lead the planning and implementation of the occasion in just under three years' time.
Officials say the role would involve managing a £2.5million budget and 'coordinate a dedicated team, and work with partners across accommodation, transport, security, health and safety, medical services and emergency planning to create an exceptional experience for everyone involved.'
It would be a full-time position involing 37 hours per week with a salary of between £60,667 and £70,646 per year and would be a limited term appointment up until September 2029.
Among the other responsibilities would be developing an education programme which engages young people and children prior to the games; creat and put in place a strategy to make sure the event has more than 1000 volunteers trained and prepared as well as produce a report at the end of the 2029 games reviewing the event to be submitted to the International Island Games Association (IIGA).
The deadline for applications for the role is tomorrow (9 October, 2026), provisional interview dates are scheduled for 10-11 November, 2026.
