Landmark for St. George's

Champions St. George's have now gone 50 league matches unbeaten.

They won 2-0 at Laxey on Wednesday evening to move 9 points clear at the top.

The goals came from Sam Caine and an own goal - the result means Laxey miss out on finishing as runners-up with St. Mary's confirmed in second place.

Geordies last defeat in the league came on Saturday 10th April 2010 when they crashed 4-0 to Rushen at Croit Lowey.

St. George's are just one game away from becoming the fifth club in Manx Football to complete the Grand Slam of all four major trophies in one season - the others are Gymns (1987), Laxey (2006), Peel (1933 & 1973) and St. Mary's (1998).

They play Peel in the final of the Hospital Cup on Sunday at The Bowl with the match kicking off at 3pm - the Premier League trophy plus the Railway and F.A. Cups are already in the trophy cabinet at Glencrutchery Road.

Old Boys completed their Premier League campaign in style with an 8-0 romp at Gymns.

Scorers were Craig Stewart (4), Callum Stewart (2) and David Quirk (2).

In Combination Two, Ramsey and Peel drew 2-2 at Ballacloan Stadium.
