Laing going for Open Start

Mount Murray Golf professional Allyn Laing is through to the final stages of qualifying for The Open at Royal Birkdale.

A round of 67 at Prestbury yesterday was good enough to make it into next week's final qualifying competitions at the Hillside, West Lancashire and Southport & Ainsdale courses.

Each venue will have four qualification places from a starting field of 96 players.
