Jamie Devine to face Ghanaian in opening bout

Boxing draw takes place ahead of Commonwealth Games

Manx boxer Jamie Devine will face Ghanaian boxer Abdul Omar in his first round match of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Mr Omar competed in the men's bantamweight event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and was defeated in the first round.

The welterweights will meet at the National Exhibition Centre on Friday (29 July) at 7.30pm.

Jamie will be boxing in the blue corner during the Round of 32 bout.

This is Jamie's first Commonwealth Games.
