Rider won't be racing but is taking up a notable filming opportunity

James Hillier has confirmed he won't be racing at this year's Isle of Man TT.

However, the former TT winner will be at the 2026 event but will instead play a role in film production taking place during the racing fortnight.

As part of the filming, he will be working as a 'double' on a camera bike 'either side' of qualifying and race sessions.

Hillier admits it will feel strange not being involved in a competitive sense, but says he fully intends to be back racing in the TT going forward:

Earlier this month, it was announced that production of a new film inspired by the Isle of Man TT Races will get underway at this year's event.

The feature, which is called 'Isle of Man', is part of a wider package picked up by Amazon MGM Studios and filming activity for it will take place at the 2026 racing fortnight.

The film is being produced by Free Association, Plan B and Entertainment 360, with Channing Tatum and Eve Hewson attached to star with Reid Carolin directing.

The Amazon MGM Studios package around the project will also involve a companion docuseries - footage for that was gathered at TT 2024.
