Swimmer sets record time in first heat
It may only have been a preliminary heat, but Manx swimmer Charlotte Atkinson is already celebrating in Jersey.
This morning in the Women’s 100m Butterfly, she swam a time of 59.99 – more than two and a half seconds ahead of Jersey’s Olivia Rose Pollard.
But even that was enough to get Team Isle of Man celebrating – as it smashed the Island Games record.
Charlotte took to Twitter afterwards, saying “New Island Games record in the first heat swim of the week!”
