IoM teams start strong to new badminton season

Island sides in same division 

The Isle of Man badminton teams took to the court for the opening weekend of the Division 2 North Senior County Championships. 

Both Isle of Man 1 and Isle of Man 2 are in the same division for the new season and faced each other in the opening round in Bolton.

IoM 1 beat the second team 11-0 however IoM 2 were not disheartened for long as they bounced back convincingly against Lancashire 4 to win 7-4. 

IoM 1 also took on Lancashire 3 and made it two wins from two as they romped the north west side to an 11-1 victory. 

The results mean that IoM 1 finished the opening weekend top of the standings, with 21 points, while IoM 2 are in fifth with seven points. 

Isle of Man will be back in action on the 18 January 2025.
