Ian Hutchinson has described today (Wednesday) as 'the saddest of his career" on his Facebook page after it was announced he would not be fit enough to ride at TT 2011.
The eight-time mountain course winner, who made history by winning all five solo races last year, has not recovered in time from the badly broken leg he sustained at Silverstone last September.
Since then he has undergone 16 operations and several skin grafts.
Hutchinson signed a two-year deal with SMR Yamaha in January and was the racing headline for the Japanese manufacturer's 50th anniversary celebrations.
