Report by Ben Cunningham:
After an exciting start to the new year week two of the mixed manx hockey season is taking place this weekend.
in the Mixed Premier League, Castletown Southerners - who had a tough start to life in the premiership when they were defeated by Bacchas A - meet Harlequins A this weekend who played out a3-3 draw with Castletown Celts last weekend.
Vikings B another tough game this weekend when they meet Bacchas A who had a good opening weekend win; Vikings A, who will be looking to keep the pressure on Bacchas A, play Bacchas B who I’m sure will try and help their A team and try to stop Vikings A taking all the points; finally, Valkyrs A play Castletown Celts in a match that could be very close.
In Mixed Division One, Harlequins B got life in this division off to a good start with a win over Vikings C can they do the same this weekend when they play Valkyrs C who had a opening weekend loss to their own B team?
Meanwhile, Ramsey A play Valkyrs B and there is a 'battle of the C teams' as Bacchas C play Vikings C who will be hoping they can get on winning ways.
In Mixed Division Two, Vikings D - who got an opening weekend win over Castletown Cushags - this weekend face another southern side in the form of Castletown Cosney who are coming into this weekend looking for their first win of the season as the newly-promoted side in this league.
Ramsey Ravens play Castletown Cushags - both sides will be wanting the points from this game; finally, Castletown Cammages play Bacchas Colts and both these sides come into this game follow good opening weekend victories.
In Mixed Division Three, a great start for newly-formed side Harlequins D saw them take victory in their first ever game, this weekend they meet Vikings E who had a narrow defeat to Harlequins C.
Bacchas Mixed Bucks play Harlequins C this weekend; it’s North vs West in the north of the island as Ramsey Rookies - who had a tough start last weekend - meet Valkyrs D who will be hoping to make it two wins from two; Castletown Carrick - who lost to Harlequins D - meet Bacchas D who scored plenty of goals last weekend in their opening game of the season.
