With all the leagues now finished attention turns to the knockout competitions and all the excitement that this entails. With a maximum of 3 more games remaining left for those teams that make it to the final this represents clubs last chance of silverware this season.
First up is the Rossborough Women’s Cup with Vikings A huge favourites to progress to the Semi-Finals when they take on Saracens women. A close game is in prospect when Ramsey A take on Bacchas A. Next up is Castletown A taking on Valkyrs A. Although Valkyrs A go into the game as favourites Castletown A started the league season incredibly well and although form has dropped of they have shown themselves capable of causing an upset. The final game sees Harlequins take on the very impressive Valkyrs B with the westerners outright favourites to progress.
In the Rossborough Men’s Cup only one game takes place with Vikings A, Ramsey A and Bacchas A all receiving bye’s into the semi finals. Valkyrs A take on Harlequins A in a match up that will more like be one-sided in the Westerners favour. The same situation arises in the Rossborough Women’s Plate with Division One Champions taking on Castletown B and although the southerners defence has been mighty at times this season they will struggle to hold back the All Blacks attack. Ramsey B, Bacchas B and Valkyrs C all receive bye’s into the semi final.
Finally, The Rossborough Men’s Plate takes place with Bacchas Colts receiving a bye into the semi final. However an exciting game between Saracens B and Ramsey B and if Ramsey can field a full team they could potentially give Saracens a scare. Vikings C take on Castletown B with the southerners managing a draw against Vikings earlier in the season this could go either way. Finally the two title challenge protagonists match up in the opening round with Valkyrs B slight favourites when they take on Castletown A.
