Hockey: Sienna Dunn and England secure Euros bronze

Manx hockey star helps Under-21's to third spot in Spain

Isle of Man hockey star Sienna Dunn and England have secured bronze at this year's EuroHockey Under-21 Championships.

The former Valkyrs player and the national side claimed third place at the tournament held in Terrassa, Spain from 14-20 July with a 1-0 win in the 3rd/4th place playoff match against Germany on Saturday (20 July).

It was revenge for England against a German side which had beaten them 2-0 in the group phase earlier in the tournament.

In the lead-up to their eventual finish, England had also claimed two victories in Pool B with an 8-1 hammering of Austria and a convincing 5-0 victory over Ireland.

Their strong group display saw them into the semi-finals of the competition where they suffered a 7-0 defeat to eventual tournament winners the Netherlands who in turn earned a 5-3 win over Spain in the final itself.

Dunn was one of ten players who'd also competed for the England Under-21's side which finished fourth at the 2023 Junior World Cup in Chile last December.
