Report by Ben Cunningham:

League action takes a break this weekend as the semi-finals in the Mixed Cup, Plate and Bowl take place with some very interesting match-ups.

In the cup, Castletown Celts play Vikings B in the first semi-final, when these two sides met in the league Castletown came away with the wi, however I'm sure Vikings would love to cause a cup upset.

The other semi-final is between Bacchas A - who have been unstoppable all season so far - and Valkyrs A who have found a good run of form in the last few games.

In the plate, Bacchas C - who currently sit top in Mixed Division One - play Ramsey A who have found a good run of form and in the first round the northerners came from behind to take their first round tie on penalty flicks.

The winner will the other winner in the other semi final which is between Harlequins B and Valkyrs B, these two sides have already met twice in the league and Harlequins came away with the win both times can they make it a third win or will the westerns get one back and take that spot in the final ?

In the bowl, the first semi-final I have got as the tie of the round and that’s between Valkyrs D of Mixed Division Three and Vikings D of Mixed Division Two - these two sides might be in different leagues but they have both had pretty similar seasons in their leagues and both scoring plenty of goals, I think this could be close and possibly go all the way to penalty flicks.

The other semi-final is a Castletown derby between Castletown Cammags - who sit top of Mixed Division Two - and Castletown Cosney who sit bottom of that league, southern derbies are always good and competitive and I’m sure this one will be no different.

We have one league fixture in Mixed DivisionTthree and it’s a derby between Bacchas D and Bacchas Mixed Bucks, this game was meant to have been played last weekend but due to players being off-Island for the Island teams this has been rescheduled to this weekend as both sides are not involved in the cup.
