Archie Cox to play against and alongside major talents in the sport
An Isle of Man hockey player has been selected to represent one of the England teams taking part in a prestigious tournament this weekend.
Archie Cox of Castletown Hockey Club is part of the England Red squad contesting the finals of the UK Boys School Games 2024 at Loughborough University from today until Saturday (29-31 August).
There he will come up against and play alongside some of the most promising young athletes in the sport from England, Wales and Ulster.
The Manx Hockey Association says Cox's call-up is 'a testament to his hard work, dedication and immense talent' adding his journey 'serves as an inspiration to young athletes on the Isle of Man.'
Cox and England Red's first match will be against Ulster Red at 3.30pm this afternoon - you can see the match schedule HERE.
Other Isle of Man talents in the sport have competed in the games previously with the likes of Sienna Dunn and Lexie Haig representing England Girls back in 2022.
