Hockey: Island national sides back in EH Championship action

Double-header of fixtures at NSC part of second round ties

A rare double-header of on-Island England Hockey Championship matches take place this weekend with four Isle of Man national sides returning to competitive action.

Three Manx senior teams and one of the boys junior squads enter the latest phase of their respective EH knockout tournaments across Saturday and Sunday (14-15 Dec).

For the first time in several years, two of those games will take place on Manx shores at the NSC in Douglas with back-to-back ties there tomorrow.

The first will see the Isle of Man Women's A team welcome Liverpool Sefton Ladies 1st XI in the EH Women's Tier 2 KO Championship second round at 11am.

Straight after at 1pm the Isle of Man Men's A will take on Preston Men's 1st XI in the EH Men's Tier 2 KO Championship second round.

On the same day the Isle of Man Men's B enter the second phase of the EH Men's Tier 3 KO Championship and travel to face West Bridgford Men's 2nd XI at 10.45am.

Finally, Sunday sees another meeting of the Isle of Man and Preston - this time the Under-14 Boys squads of both clubs are due to meet in Lancashire at 10am that morning.
