Hockey goes to form

It’s two wins out of two for the top two sides in men’s hockey.

Reigning champions Bacchas A thrashed Vikings A 6-1 as they started the season with back-to-back defeats.

The prolific Karl Moore hit four and Andy Vernon-Browne and Jamie Browne grabbed the others with Dave Millward notching the consolation for Vikings, who are already playing catch-up at the top.

Valkyrs A eventually wore Castletown down, hitting seven without reply.

Vic Fearns , Ollie Webster, Gareth Morris, Ste Lowe, Greg Miller and Chris Caldwell (two) grabbed their goals.

The other match in the Wi-Manx men’s Premier Division saw Bacchas B and Ramsey A share four goals.

Dan Stevenson hit a double for Ramsey.

In the Wi-Manx women’s Premier Division, champions Vikings A thrashed Ramsey A 10-0.

Trebles from Sarah Blackman and Katie Errock led the rout, while Zoe and Jim Carney each chipped in with two apiece.

The other top women’s sides won convincingly.
