Report by Ben Cunningham:
League action takes a break this weekend as the first round in the Mixed Cup, Mixed Plate and Mixed Bowl take place with some very interesting match-ups.
In the cup, Castletown Celts face Bacchas B - these two sides have met in the league which ended in draw but when you look at the league standings, Castletown celts are in a better position.
Harlequins A meet Valkyrs A for the second week in a row - when these two sides met in the league last weekend Valkyrs A just came away with the win.
Vikings B play Castletown Southerners in what could be a very close match that could go to penalty flicks between two evenly-matched sides.
Finally, the big first round draw in this competition is between Bacchas A and Vikings A - Bacchas have been looking really strong going forward and scoring plenty of goals whilst for Vikings A have had a few results not go their way but as we know from a number of times these two sides have met this is always a close fixture.
In the plate, Bacchas C - who are currently leading the Mixed Division One league - face bottom of that league Vikings C who I’m sure would love for their fortunes to change.
The other fixture is between Ramsey A and Valkyrs C and these two sides are very evenly-matched and again this could be another fixture I think that could end up going to penalty flicks.
Harlequins B and Valkyrs B both have byes into the next round.
In the bowl, Ramsey Ravens - who have had a mixed bag of results so far this season - face Vikings D who have been looking strong going forward and scoring plenty of goals.
Bacchas Colts play Castletown Cammags who currently lead the way in Mixed Division Two, however Bacchas Colts will be wanting to try and have a good cup run.
Harlequins C meet Castletown Cosney in a match that looks set to be close... will this one go all the way to penalty flicks?
Valkyrs D - who have been looking strong in Mixed Division Three so far - host Castletown Cushags who will want to make sure as the higher team in this match up they don’t have a cup shock exit to a lower league side.
