Hockey: Draws made for opening 2024 mixed cup fixtures

Three competitions to begin in early October

The draws have been made for the opening rounds of the 2024 mixed cup competitions in Isle of Man hockey.

The latest campaign will once again feature three competitions in the form of the Cup, Plate and Bowl.

Contesting the Cup again will be the six Mixed Premier League sides whilst the Plate tournament will feature the six teams of Mixed Division One.

Seven Mixed Division Two outfits are then forming the Bowl competition.

The standout first round tie in the cup will see defending Mixed Premier League champions Valkyrs A host the current Mixed Cup holders Bacchas A.

Elsewhere, Vikings A are at home to Bacchas B whilst Castletown Celts visit Vikings B.

Harlequins have received a bye into the next round.

There are just two first round ties in the Plate as last season's Mixed Division One runners-up Castletown Southerners travel to Vikings D whilst Vikings C are at home to Bacchas C.

Receiving first round byes in the Plate this time are Valkyrs C and Ramsey A.

The three Bowl ties see Ramsey Ravens welcome Castletown Cammags; Harlequins B take on Vikings E and Valkyrs D face Castletown Cushags as Bacchas Colts receive a bye.

All ties are scheduled to be played on Saturday, 5 October with venues and push-back times to be confirmed.
