Handball: Isle of Man announces Danish partnership

Hopes Manx club can gain further skills and experience

The Isle of Man's handball squad is joining forces with what is considered by some to be one of the world's leading academies in the sport.

IoM Olympic Handball (IoMHC) says it's linking up with the Aarhus School of Sports based in Denmark.

Manx players, coaches and referees are set to make a visit to the academy to educate themselves on the game and gain personal experience.

IoMHC Coach, Mick Hegarty, describes this as an opportunity for those at the club to 'immerse themselves' into a 'professional handball lifestyle' over several days.

It's hoped this partnership can have a similar effect to the one between the England Handball Association and the academy which allows British players to attend and gain the chance to play for professional teams in Scandinavia and Europe.
