Gr-eight start for Ellan Vannin
Ellan Vannin go into day two of the Niamh Challenge Cup in high spirits after an 8-1 thrashing of Panjab, a representative team from India and Pakistan, yesterday (Saturday).
Skipper Sean Quaye led by example by putting Ellan Vannin in front and, after Ciaran McNulty and the visitors traded goals, Quaye headed in his second.
A tidy finish from Connor Doyle before the break put the hosts in the ascendancy and Frank Jones (two), substitute Furo Davies and Liam Doyle added second half goals in the romp.
The Manx will face Felvidek in Sunday’s final, which kicks off at 5pm at the Bowl, after they beat Alderney 2-1.
The third/fourth place play-off is at 2pm.
