Gr-eight shows from top two

It’s clearly a two horse race in the Wi-Manx men’s Premier Division.

Bacchas A and Valkyrs A both hit eight on Saturday to remain out in front.

The champions Bacchas A thrashed Castletown A 8-0 – Karl Moore (three), Andy Vernon-Browne, Richard Le Page, Jamie Brown, Alex Atkinson and Johnny Callow were on target.

Meanwhile, Valkyrs A came from behind to see off Bacchas B 8-2.

Ollie Webster (three), Vic Fearns and Gareth Morris were among their scorers.

Tony Bentley-Roberts and Tom Wilson netted for Bacchas B.

After three straight defeats, Vikings A got their first points of the season.

Connor Byrne, Ash Osbourne, Dave Millward and Andy Harding (two) were their marksmen, along with Christian Davis with a penalty flick, in a 6-0 success over Ramsey A.

Ramsey A caused the surprise of the day in the Wi-Manx women’s Premier Division by holding Valkyrs A to a 0-0 draw.

It was a resolute performance by the northerners against their free-scoring opponents.

Bacchas A thrashed Vikings B 8-0 to stay top, courtesy of goals from Claire Louise Lace (two), Sharon Pope (two), Laura Atkinson (two), Jennifer Vernon-Browne and Niamh Goddard.

Goals from Kim Carney and Zoe Carney fired reigning champions Vikings A to a battling 2-1 win over Castlertown A.

Zoe Shimmin netted for Town.

Aimee McGarry and Chloe Cornish were the scorers as Bacchas B came from behind to defeat Valkyrs B 2-1.

Alice Henderson had given them the lead.
