Good news for Vagabonds on home front

Vagabonds B claimed second place in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield with a 17-0 home win over Ramsey B.

A Michael Oates penalty gave Vagas an early 3-0 lead.

Ramsey were hoping to use the wind in the second half but a breakaway try by Vagas number eight John Coetzee and a conversion from Oates pushed Vagas’ lead out to 17-0 and Ramsey were unable to recover.

At Mooragh Park, reigning champions Ramsey eased past Emerging Nomads 44-0.

James McKenzie bagged a try as did Ryan Rhodes.

The Pritchard brothers, Tynan and Aneurin, picked up two apiece and veteran hooker Myles Ellis also crossed for his second of the season.
