Event is the world's oldest open amateur stroke-play championship

Isle of Man golfer, Daryl Callister has managed a top-ten finish whilst competing at the world's oldest open amateur stroke-play championship.

The Island player went on to take tenth spot during this year's Tennant Cup which was held at Glasgow Golf Club in Scotland from 20-21 June.

Taking place over four rounds, Callister managed first and second round scores of 71 and 73 to stay well within the cut at the halfway point.

With the field reduced from then on to 40 players, Callister registered a third round of 74 before an impressive 68 to round out his campaign there.

Elsewhere, the event was won by current Scottish Amateur Champion, Chris Somers by eight shots on 11-under-par.

For Callister, this strong showing adds to his recent success on Island which saw him lift the W A Kirkpatrick Trophy at Rowany Golf Club on Sunday, 14 June.
