Cal Crutchlow was dicing with Alvaro Bautista for third place at the latest round in Japan yesterday, when he ran out of fuel on the final lap.
That leaves the 26-year-old in seventh place in the championship standings.
The next MotoGP round is this coming weekend at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia.
