Duo thankful for 'overwhelming support' after TT crash
Sidecar team Peter Founds and Jevan Walmsley have secured a machine for this year's Southern 100, only a few weeks after a crash at the Isle of Man TT Races.
In an update on social media, Founds has confirmed the pair will contest next month's meeting at the Billown Course on a Yamaha machine provided by his brother, Alan.
Both are thanking people for their support which includes an ongoing fundraiser started earlier this month to get them back to racing after it was confirmed their TT bike was 'a total loss' following their incident on the Snaefell Mountain Course.
Furthermore, Peter Founds adds they've been able to get themselves an LCR chassis going forward as a result of money raised by members of the public.
Both he and Walmsley were involved in a qualifying incident at Rhencullen at TT 2025 on Sunday, 1 June.
Whilst both competitors were discharged from hospital a day later, the team said the machine they were riding was damaged ' far worse than we could have imagined' and 'in short, the entire bike is a total loss.'
Initial forecasts from them stated the costs of getting a competitive bike together again could be in the region of £30,000.
To date (25 June), the fundraiser to help the pair has seen donations reach more than £14,500.
Separately, the 2025 Southern 100 Road Races are scheduled to take place on Island from 7-10 July
