Manx amputee player in squad heading to Turkey this week

Manx amputee footballer Sean Jackson will be part of the England squad taking part in the 2025 EAFF Nations League which starts this week.

Jackson - who plays his club football with Everton - is part of the 11-strong national side contesting Division A of the competition in Turkey which runs from today until next Monday (11-15 September).

England - who go into the tournament as defending champions from two years ago - face Poland in their first match in Trabzon tomorrow (12 September).

Also taking part in Division A are the hosts, Turkey as well as Italy.

The EAFF Nations League first launched in 2023 and is a biennial event to be played in the years where there are no international competitions such as the EAFF European Championships or WAFF World Cup.

The format features 18 teams split across four divisions with each division taking place in a different country.

Division B is being held in Avila Spain from 25-29 September; Division C in Azerbaijan from 16-20 October and Division D in Romania from 30 October-3 November.
