Football: Pulrose United edge ahead in Combination Two title chase

Three points separate top three following Wednesday clashes

Pulrose United have edged ahead in the hotly-contested Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Combination Two title race following the second set of midweek Manx football fixtures last night (15 April).

During nine combination league ties which took place on Wednesday evening, Pulrose United were comfortable 7-0 winners at St George's to go top of the Combination Two pack.

One of their fellow challengers, Ramsey Youth Centre & Old Boys (Rycob.) lost ground as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Marown whilst the third side in the title mix, Douglas Athletic were not in action yesterday.

The latest results mean Pulrose United lead the way on 58 points, two clear of Rycob. in second whilst Douglas Athletic reside a point further back on 55 in third spot.

Meanwhile, Peel and Corinthians remain locked together at the top of Canada Life Combination One with the former ahead only on goal difference.

Among last night's Combination One results, Peel earned a substantial 13-0 win against Foxdale whilst Corinthians did enough to take a 5-3 victory at Onchan.
