IOMFA says Manx football facing shortage of officials this season
A course aiming to help boost the number of referees in Manx football has had to be cancelled this weekend due to lack of interest.
The Isle of Man FA had planned to host a referee course at The Bowl in Douglas this Saturday and Sunday (20-21 August).
Announcing the cancellation, the FA says referee numbers locally have been depleting over the years - partly due to age.
The organisation adds the local game is currently facing a shortage of officials 'which will lead to the inevitable match postponements unless officials come forward'.
Another referee course will be scheduled once the new season gets underway.
