Castletown make more ground in Division 2 promotion race
Peel have gone top of the Canada Life Men's Premier League after a big win over Rushen United during last night's midweek Isle of Man football clashes (21 April).
The westerners' 7-0 victory over their 'old firm' rivals takes them three points clear at the summit and still with a game in hand over Corinthians just below them in second.
Elsewhere, at the opposite end of the table, Foxdale are all but mathematically relegated after they were beaten at Laxey and Braddan earned a draw at Onchan.
In Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, Colby maintained their 16-point lead at the top with a narrow 2-1 win at fellow southerners, Malew.
In behind, Castletown stay second and move four points clear of their nearest promotion challengers after they took a comprehensive 5-1 win over St George's.
One of Castletown's competitors to go up, Marown suffered a setback with a 2-1 loss against Pulrose United.
The Isle of Man midweek football action continues tonight (22 April) with 11 matches across the combination divisions.
