Football: Ecap FA Cup clashes to kick off 2026

Castletown with chance to go top of Division 2 to start new year

The first matches of this year's Ecap FA Cup competition will kickstart the football action on Island in 2026 this weekend.

Tomorrow (3 January) sees the Preliminary Round of the tournament take place with 14 teams vying for a place in the first round proper.

Among the ties is a southern derby which will see Division 2 side, Malew host Canada Life Men's Premier League outfit, Rushen United.

Elsewhere, Division 2 leaders, Colby will be hoping to cause an upset when they travel to face top-flight opponents, Foxdale.

All of tomorrow's Ecap FA Cup fixtures will get underway at the earlier time of 1pm.

Meanwhile, there will also be a selection of league meetings across the respective men's divisions which will start slightly later at 2pm.

Included in those are the only Canada Life Men's Premier League encounter which will see St Mary's host Laxey whilst second-tier title contenders, Castletown could go back to the top of Division 2 if they overcome Douglas Royal.
