Football: Corinthians hoping to keep up unbeaten run this weekend

Division 2 sides with chance to close in on top two

Corinthians will be out to maintain their status as the only unbeaten Canada Life Men's Premier League side as the latest round of Isle of Man football fixtures approach this weekend.

The top-flight leaders are yet to taste defeat and face the prospect of welcoming last season's Railway Cup and FA Cup winners, Ayre United as part of another busy schedule on Saturday (1 November).

Meanwhile, second-placed Laxey - who suffered their first loss of the campaign at home to Peel last weekend - remain just one point behind the league leaders ahead of a trip to Douglas High School Old Boys (DHSOB.) whilst Onchan in third face a potentially tough task at defending champions, Peel.

In Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, both of the current top two sides - Castletown and Colby - are without matches this weekend, potentially allowing one or more sides to close the gap on the current promotion favourites.

On Sunday (2 November), after a week off over half-term breaks, the Canada Life Women's League returns with three matches penned in.

Corinthians - who only lead at the top over Onchan on goal difference - head to Douglas Royal whilst Onchan themselves will host last season's Women's FA Cup finalists, Malew.

Defending women's champions, Peel - who've only played twice so far this season due to postponements - are at home to Union Mills.
