The Isle of Man will field a Men's and Women's team at next summer's NatWest Island Games in Aland.
The decision has been ratified by the Isle of Man Football Association Council.
At last year's games in Rhodes, the Men missed the event because of their involvement in the U.E.F.A. Systems Cup representing England. The Women narrowly missed out on bronze when they lost on penalties to Bermuda.
A big fund raising effort is now needed. Normally, the cost of sending each player to the Island Games is around £650, but the average cost for Aland is expected to be nearer £1,300 per competitor.
