Football: 2023/24 Manx season to get underway this weekend

21 matches penned in for opening day tomorrow (2 September)

The 2023/24 Isle of Man senior men's football season gets underway this weekend.

The opening day of Saturday, 2 September, sees 21 fixtures penned in across the Canada Life Men's Premier League, DPS Ltd. Division 2, Canada Life Combination One and Canada Life Combination Two,

All but one of the ties will kick-off at 2.30pm.

Among the ties, Peel - who secured their first premier league title for the first time in 21 years last season - begin their title defence at home to St George's.

Meanwhile, the newly-promoted premier league outfits of St Mary's and Braddan are both on the road for their first fixtures - they'll take on St John's United and Douglas Royal respectively.

In Division 2, Douglas High School Old Boys (Dhsob.) - relegated from the top flight in 2022/23 - start out at home against Castletown, and elsewhere the side who narrowly missed out on promotion last season, Michael United, will get their campaign underway at Foxdale.

In the combination leagues, Rushen United who won Combination One last season with a perfect record winning all 22 league matches will be away to Corinthians whilst last season's promoted Combination Two victors, St Mary's, are at home to St John's at the slightly earlier time of 2pm.

The two runners-up of Combination Two last year - Ramsey Youth Centre & Old Boys (Rycob.) and Malew - who both only lost out on top spot on goal difference begin their latest chapter away to Colby and at home to Douglas & District respectively.
