First day of racing at Pre-TT Classic

Rain didn't stop play

Rain did not dampen proceedings as the Pre-TT Classic Races got underway on Saturday.

While some races had to be shortened by a lap because of the conditions, all four did go ahead.

In the first race - the Singles Classic, Will Loder won the 350s, Mike Hose was second and Shelley Pike completed the podium.

Barry Davidson won the 250s, Andy Hunt was second and Terence Sansom was third.

Race two was the 1100cc Classic which saw the lead exchange hands several times.

In the end it was Alan Overty who crossed the line first ahead of last year’s winner Andy Hornby with Will Loder on the podium again in third.

For the third race - the Junior Superbike - it was an all Manx podium as Grant Thomson finished first, comfortably head of Chris Moore with Dan Sayle completing the podium in third.

And then in the final race of the evening, the Sidecar Classic Race 1, it was time for the newcomers to shine.

Marvin Vermeulen and Troy Klinker came in first, with Seppe Noel and Kobe Dehouck second.

Troy Thirkell and William Moralee finished third.

Racing continues on Sunday afternoon with roads scheduled to close at 1pm until no later than 6pm.
