Manxman to ride team's BMW machine at next week's meeting

Manx TT competitor Conor Cummins will receive backing from FHO Racing at next weekend's Armoy Road Races.

The team will supply Cummins with a BMW M1000RR superbike for the meeting in Northern Ireland with the rider undertaking a private test on the machine this afternoon (19 July).

For the team it'll be a first experience of the event whilst Cummins has previously raced there in 2012 and 2013.

Speaking on this latest agreement, Conor says: "I’m absolutely over the moon to be given the opportunity to ride the FHO Racing BMW; I really can’t thank Faye, Darren and the entire team enough for this chance.

"Everyone has been superb, and I just can’t wait to test the BMW for the first time later today and then head off to the Armoy Road Races next weekend.

"I’m really excited and feel like we’ve hit the reset button; this is a brilliant opportunity for me, and I just want to make the most of it, enjoy racing and see where it goes.”

Meanwhile, FHO Racing Team Principal, Faye Ho, adds: “Myself and Darren, my Team Manager, have had our eye on Conor for a while now and after the TT we started talking about how we could possibly work together, which has led to FHO supporting him for the Armoy Road Races.

"Conor is a super experienced rider and I’m so pleased to be working with him for this event, as a team we’re all looking forward to seeing how he gets on at the event and wish him the very best of luck.”

The Ramsey competitor's last outing in road racing was at the 2024 Isle of Man TT Races with the Milenco by Padgett's Motorcycles team.

There he retired from the opening Supersport and Superbike races before withdrawing from the event with immediate effect - at the time no additional details were given on the reasons behind that decision.

The 2024 Armoy Road Races are scheduled to take place on 26-27 July.
