Ravens boss insists team should have 'no fear' attitude against high-flyers
FC Isle of Man's manager insists his team should approach this weekend 'with no fear' when they take on title contenders Chadderton in the NWCFL Premier Division on Saturday (26 October).
Targeting a third straight win, 'The Ravens' are fifth in the league table with their latest hosts sit in second and just two points off the top.
The last time the teams met was on the opening day of the season on 27 July as FC Isle of Man blew a two-goal lead to see the points shared in an eventual 2-2 draw.
The Island side's boss Paul Jones says whilst it was frustrating not to overcome Chadderton last time out, it was proof in his eyes that his players can compete with the best in this division:
Both teams will meet on neutral ground tomorrow at the Vestacare Stadium - home of Avro FC - due to ongoing refurbishments of Chadderton's home, The Falcon Fire Stadium, this season.
Maximum points could have great implications for either side this weekend.
A win for Chadderton could see them go above league leaders Ramsbottom United if 'Rammy' drop points at Litherland REMYCA whilst three points for FC Isle of Man would keep them in promotion play-off spot contention.
In the three meetings between the sides so far it's FC Isle of Man who have the edge - whilst both drew in the revers fixture at The Bowl this season in July it was the Island side who took victory home and away in 2023/24.
However, Chadderton enter the weekend as the in-form side in the league - out of the 24 teams in the division only they have managed a 100 per cent win record from their last six league games.
Furthermore, Ben Greenidge and Carl Taylor's side have lost just two of their last 22 games in all competitions to this point.
Chadderton vs FC Isle of Man kicks-off at the Vestacare Stadium on Saturday at 3pm.
