Ravens prepare for second match under Rick Holden

FC Isle of Man head on their travels in the NWCFL Premier Division this evening (8 October) in what will be caretaker manager, Rick Holden's second match in charge of the side.

Following a narrow defeat at home to Barnoldswick Town last weekend (4 October), 'The Ravens' head to South Liverpool for a 7.45pm kick-off at Jericho Lane.

Heading into tonight's meeting, FC Isle of Man remain just one position and one point above the relegation zone and with just two wins from their opening 14 games.

For South Liverpool, it'll be their first outing in two weeks after their league tie at Wythenshawe FC last weekend was postponed due to poor weather conditions.

Whilst FC Isle of Man do still reside above the top two, the teams immediately around them have either one or two games in hand on the Islanders.

Depending on other results, FC Isle of Man could move up as many as two places with a win on Merseyside.

Their hosts, meanwhile, have had a steady start to the campaign and sit 13th in the league with six wins from their first 12.

Both teams met for the first time during last season where a Ste Whitley double helped FC Isle of Man to victory at Jericho Lane in September last year before both played out a 2-2 draw at The Bowl in March 2025.

For Holden's second FC Isle of Man game, he is able to recall Callum Sherry, Dean Pinnington and top-scorer, Charlie Higgins who were unavailable for the team's defeat to Barnoldswick Town this weekend.

There's also a return for goalkeeper, Adam Killey who replaces Ben Wilkinson in the squad.

Elsewhere, Michael Williams, Karl Clark and Sam Gelling drop out.
